New cover will allow better use in warm or rainy weather
The Eastmont Metro Parks fitness court, installed in June of 2023, now has an overhead cover in place
to allow more activity on warm or rainy days. The cover project, which included a heavy-duty steel frame,
was completed by parks department employees on May 8th with the actual mounting of the fabric cover.
This project was funded through a joint effort of the City of East Wenatchee, East Wenatchee Rotary, and
Rotary Foundation International, which provided a $10,000 Rotary District 5060 matching grant.
This is the second major park project sponsored by East Wenatchee Rotary with the help of a Rotary
Foundation grant. The nearby artificial turf futsal field (a smaller version of a normal soccer field which is
great for younger players) was another EW Rotary project, completed in the summer of 2020.
